The Education Fund will present multiple class options over a 2-Day event offering a total of 6 continuing education hours for Respiratory Therapists. Topics Include:

Adult Ventilation: This vendor led course includes Adaptive Support Ventilation (ASV) and Airway Pressure Support Ventilation (APRV) Hamilton G5. You will learn the theory and utilization of these modes with ventilated patients in our critical care areas.

Communication Strategies:  A special invited instructor will lead this interactive course to help you understand the different methods of communication and how to use these tools to effectively converse with patients.

Neonatal & Pediatric Ventilation: This course offers initial airway assessment of critical neonatal and pediatric patients training. You will learn initial set up of different modalities of therapy and education to improve patient stabilization.

Who Should Attend:
The course is designed for licensed Respiratory Therapists working at Kaiser Permanente who would like the most up to date training and information on Adult and Pediatric Ventilation and effective communication strategies.

Continuing Education Credit:
Continuing education will be provided by Kaiser Permanente Santa Clara and is approved by the California Board of Registered Nursing Provider Number 14369 for 6.0 hours.

IV Refresher Course

Refine your skills and brush up on IV methodologies. Intravenous (IV) therapy is the process of putting fluids or medications into patients through a vein. Instructors demonstrate how to insert IVs into patients’ arms, how to connect IVs to machines such as volumetric pumps and analgesia devices controlled by the patient, and how to monitor peripheral and central lines. *Note: This class does not result in certification.*

Mental Health First Aid Training (for CA Kaiser Permanente employees only)

In this 8-hour, in-person course you will:
