Continuing Education (CE) Reimbursement Program

Looking to attend an in-person training? Want to attend a conference or symposium relevant to your field? Well the Education Fund has an exciting option for you in 2020! The CE Reimbursement program designed to support professionals as they obtain their credits to maintain their license!

Receive reimbursement of up to $250 annually when you earn CEs at an eligible in-person conference, class, or workshop relevant to your current position.

It’s simple! Review the guidelines about the CE Reimbursement program below to ensure the in-person class, workshop, or conference you’ve attended is eligible:

How do I know my training is eligible?

You may be eligible for reimbursement if you fit the following criteria:

  • Provide evidence you attended an in-person CE class, workshop, or conference
  • The training you are attending must be dated in 2020-2021
  • You are currently an eligible Education Fund healthcare worker
  • The training is relevant to your current job

I’m ready to apply!

The online application must be completely filled out and submitted electronically within 90 days of the last day of the in-person class, workshop, or conference.

Note: You must submit all documents along with the reimbursement form. Any reimbursement request missing documentation will be returned to you for completion.

Once your application is submitted, you will receive an email within 3-5 business days with a reimbursement form and required list of items needed for final approval. Required documents may include, but are not limited to the following:

  1. Reimbursement Form
  2. Direct Deposit form (optional)
  3. All receipts showing payment for the in-person class, workshop, or conference
  4. Certificate showing proof of obtaining CEs
  5. Copy of your current professional license

Are online classes reimbursable?

This program does not currently reimburse for CEs taken online. Please go here to view our free online CEU options: 

How long do I have to submit my documents?

You must submit the required materials for reimbursement within 90 days of the last day of the conference. Any documents submitting after 90 days of the last day of the conference may be deemed ineligible.

How do I submit my documents?

After clicking the “Get Reimbursed!” link and completing the online application, you will receive email instructions on how to submit documentation. Once you receive the confirmation email from the Education Fund, you will submit your documents by attaching them via email.

Do I need pre-approval?

Nope! As long as you meet the criteria listed above, you will not need pre-approval.

What if my conference costs more than $250?

You will be reimbursed up to the limit of $250 annually.

How much can I be reimbursed for annually?

Up to $250 for CEU reimbursements and a maximum of $1,000 for Licenses and Certifications (see guidelines below for each program):

CEU Reimbursements:

  • Provide evidence you attended an in-person CEU class, workshop, or conference
  • The dates of your training are taken within the current year (2020)
  • You are currently an eligible Education Fund healthcare worker
  • The training is relevant to your current job

License and Certification:

  1. Work for a contributing employer (see list here)
  2. Be a member of a bargaining unit whose contract includes Education Fund Benefits.
  3. Be seeking a specialty license or certification. (Entrance exams or renewals are not supported).
  4. Have completed your initial probationary period.
  5. Have taken the license or certification exam within the last 90 days.
  6. Submit required paperwork with receipts included in the original application.
  7. Non-benefitted employees must have worked in their position six months or longer.

Why are you offering CE Reimbursements?

This is an alternative to the Education Fund hosted in-person classes, where the minimum number of students cannot be convened onsite.

What is the difference between License and Certification (L&C) and CE Reimbursements?

Both are reimbursement programs.

  1. L&C provides reimbursement of up to $1,000 per year for an optional license or certification relevant to your current job.
  2. CE Reimbursements provides up to $250 for an in-person conference, workshop, or class where you earn relevant CEs
