Scott Ogilvie often thought about moving up the  career ladder but he wasn't optimistic about getting the classes he needed to become a Registered Nurse. "I kept hearing that all the science classes were impacted" Ogilvie recalls. "They were very hard to get into and had long waiting lists. So I was like 'why bother.' I actually thought I was going to be an LVN forever." Then Ogilvie spotted the Education Fund's Fall 2007 Program Catalog, which offered a Biology class at the Willow/International Center. "I was excited to see that there were opportunities in Fresno," Ogilvie recalls. "I thought 'this is pretty cool. I can get the classes I need without having to wait and have my books, tuition and even my parking permit paid for. All I have to do is show up.' It's just a testament to how much Kaiser and the union want us to succeed."
