Long Term Care Survey
Success Story
OVERVIEW
The Education Fund offers an array of education and training opportunities specifically for employees who work in long term care settings. These new services were first offered in 2008 when collective bargaining agreements were reached with six long term care employers making the Education Fund a benefit for more than 1,200 employees. Since then, the Education Fund has offered Restorative Nursing Assistant training, continuing education courses, workshops on GED test preparation and workplace English skills improvement as well as career counseling and financial assistance for employees to take time off work to attend school and study. Many of these programs are the direct result of surveys gathered from long term care employees and input from employers.
